A Humble Beginning

In 1990 Janet began to represent Nina Cooper as her agent in Bali, and in 1991 agreed to build a silver factory to supply Nina’s business. The two women were determined to create a landmark company that would produce the highest quality goods while treating its employees and the environment with respect. Janet plunged into the silver business with her usual zeal and the first factory opened in 1992. The demand for reliable silver production quickly brought new clients, and soon the facility at Batuan was joined by a new workshop in Singapadu. As the business grew, Janet continually renewed her commitment to her workforce. Extensive training programs allowed promotion from within the company. She imported supplies and equipment, using technology to enhance rather than supplant traditional craftsmanship.
